Maureen Hahn
My name is Maureen Hahn and I am a former police officer of 7 years in the Village of Sharon in Walworth County (5 years as a DARE officer and police school liaison officer). I also have been teaching traffic safety and group dynamics at WCTC in Waukesha for 20 years. I developed a drug prevention program in 2006 called D.R.I.V.E. (drug resistance instruction and violence education) and have been teaching the program to private schools since then. The 10 week program is designed to help the student recognize and resist the pressures that may influence them to experiment with tobacco (I cover e-cigarettes and it's dangers), alcohol and other drugs. They will also learn strategies to solve a conflict before it turns to violence. The program also has a lesson on self-esteem and bully prevention. Upon completion of the D.R.I.V.E. Program, the student will participate in a special ceremony and receive their D.R.I.V.E.r's license, putting them in the driver's seat of their decisions. Each lesson is designed to be 45 minutes to 1 hour but it can be tailored to fit what ever type of time period the school desires.
Thank you for your consideration,
Maureen Hahn
